Hello! I am Dr. Susan Schultz and I am pleased to share the story of TriSong with you. A little about me first...I am a lifelong learner with a PhD in the sciences from ASU and a JD from Purdue. As a lawyer, my focus is on Animal law, protecting the rights of owners, breeders, and animals. I am also a small animal naturopath focused on lifelong natural health care and wellness. I began showing and breeding in 1984, but became almost exclusively involved with Tibetan Terriers in 2003. My husband, Marty, is an integral part of TriSong, assisting in the raising, care, and the spoiling of the dogs. Although I also breed and show pumik, my focus and my passion is and will always be TTs. TriSong has shown 31 Tibetans to their championship and we are still going strong. We are also equally, if not moreso, proud of the number of certified therapy and service dogs (176 and counting!) we have produced. As we move forward, our focus will continue to be producing happy, natural rearing for longevity, health, and wellness.

Nurturing Health and Wellness for Optimal Immune Function and Longevity

We believe in a natural approach to breeding and raising our dogs. I became a certified Small Animal Naturopath in 2017, in part, to ensure the health of my dogs. Since that time, we have feed exclusively raw or lightly cooked meals, eliminated all unnecessary vaccines, removed all known toxins from the environment (in, on, and around the dogs). Although we occasionally have a need for xrays or surgeries, we otherwise only see a vet for wellness exams if a dog leaves our care. As far as genetics is concerned, all sires and dams are tested either via Embark, Optimal Selection, or AKC. Breedings are planned first by selecting psires and dams with impeccable health clearances and gentle natures. It continues in our home, where every puppy is raised as family, receiving endless affection and foundational stimulation to become a confident, loving companion.

Essential Breeder Standards & Policies

Adopting a dog from us is a lifelong commitment. If we ever discover that a TriSong dog is in an unsafe environment or being mistreated, the animal must be returned to us immediately at our cost. We remain responsible for every dog we bring into the world for the duration of its life. This is our solemn pledge; should we request a dog's return, please understand it is a final measure taken solely to ensure their welfare.

To move forward with your application, we require your current home address, phone number, and a verifiable veterinary reference. If you were referred by a member of our community, please let us know so we can thank them. We look forward to connecting with you!

Ideal Owner Requirements:

Dedicated to the dog's long-term health and vitality

Follows a limited vaccination protocol

Maintains a natural, toxin-free home environment

Proactive in canine wellness

Provides a species-appropriate raw or lightly cooked food diet

Ensures daily exercise, sunshine, and emotional bonding

*Maintains open communication with us regarding the dog's care

Return Policy. If a placement is unsuccessful for any reason, the dog must be returned to us at once alongside all medical records, microchip details, and AKC registration papers. This is the cornerstone of responsible breeding. Once the dog has returned to our care, we focus on stabilization and psychological safety. Rehoming only begins when the dog is secure, following the standard Rule of Three for adjustment.

Should a Buyer find themselves unable to keep the dog, the Seller retains the "Right of First Refusal." We will take full possession of the dog and signed registration papers without a refund. However, if the dog is eventually resold, the Seller may choose to pass those funds to the original Buyer. "Right of First Refusal" means the dog must return to us or our designee. Giving the dog to a shelter, broker, pet store, or research facility is strictly prohibited while selling the dog or giving the dog to another family member is a breach of contract.

Placement Process Insights:

Finding the right match for your family is our priority. We strongly encourage visiting our home near Houston’s Bush International Airport to meet us and the dogs in person. If travel is not possible, we provide extensive photography, videos, and live video chats to help you bond with your future companion remotely.

Before a puppy joins your home, they receive a comprehensive final health check from our veterinarian. We can arrange for spaying or neutering for dogs over 12 months (at the buyer's expense) and will secure all necessary flight certifications during their final exam.

Deposits are non-refundable unless we cannot provide the specific gender you requested. We typically only accept a 25% deposit once a specific puppy has been chosen and a commitment is made. Full payment is mandatory before release via Zelle, Venmo, cash, or cashier's check, with the balance due one week prior to pickup.

We are happy to accommodate specific pickup dates. If we hold a dog beyond two weeks, a $10 daily boarding fee applies to cover raw meals, supplements, and dedicated socialization. While puppies under four months rarely require professional grooming, a $35 bi-weekly fee applies to older dogs in coat to ensure they stay in show-quality condition.
